WHAT IS GERMAN CHOCOLATE CAKE?
German cake may be a layered cake topped with a coconut pecan frosting. The Coconut Pecan Frosting is custard based, and made with egg yolks and milk .
German chocolate isn’t an excellent chocolatey cake on it’s own. The cake sometimes features a chocolate frosting on the edges of the cake, or chocolate ganache over the highest . I added chocolate buttercream to the edges of the cake, and tiny rosettes to the highest of the cake also , to form it more chocolatey, rich, and delicious.
